The Fédération des communautés francophones et acadiennes du Canada (FCFA) its mission is to be the national, active, engaged and inclusive voice of Francophone and Acadian communities in Canada, dedicated to promoting linguistic duality, the development of the ability to live in French from one end of the country to the other and the full participation of Francophone citizens in the development of Canada.

The FCFA of Canada has 19 members, including 12 Francophone associations representing provincial and territorial representatives and 7 national organizations representing various sectors of activity and clienteles (culture, justice, health, seniors, youth, women, early childhood). It also acts as the leader of the coordination network of organizations and institutions of the Francophonie.

NATIONAL

Accès emploi is a French-speaking employment center that commits to implementing its employability skills for the benefit of anyone seeking service in French. Clients receive personalized services that allow them to acquire the skills necessary to quickly integrate into the Alberta workforce.

Since 1926, the ACFA is the representative organization of the Francophone community of Alberta. Its role is to promote the interests of the latter and to ensure its global development.

The Alliance Jeunesse Famille de l’Alberta Society (AJFAS)is a non-profit organization that works in the fields of education and crime prevention through social development programs, with particular emphasis on children, adolescents, and families in general.

The Association des juristes d’expression française de l’Alberta (AJEFA) facilitates public access to legal services in French and promotes the use of French in the administration of justice in Alberta. It has a directory of lawyers, available on its website, and offers a referral service upon request from French-speaking lawyers in Alberta. Its Centre albertain d'information juridique, as the name suggests, provides free and confidential legal information, guidance and support services to people facing a legal problem.

The Campus Saint-Jean (CSJ) is a full faculty of the University of Alberta. It is a Canadian university teaching institution, in French, which trains leaders for the 21st century.

 

The Campus offers a rich and varied education focused on the integral development of the individual. It actively conducts numerous research projects in different areas of expertise including the arts, sciences, social sciences, and education.

The mission of the Coalition des femmes de l’Alberta is to support and represent French-speaking women, to assert their rights and interests, and to facilitate their reunification.

The organization offers support services to women according to their needs (caregivers, young mothers, students, newcomers, business women, housewives, etc.)
.

The CDÉA constitutes an economic power thanks to his leadership, by promoting the development of businesses and the employability of Francophones for a promising future. It offers several services to immigrants, including:

  • Support for business creation,
  • Workshops on marketing, the development of a business plan, the search for Marsés or a commercial space, human resources, etc.,
  • Support for the establishment of cooperatives and the creation of social enterprises,
    A mentoring service.

                    

The Edmonton Fusion FC is a soccer club (football) with a French-speaking vocation based in the Francophone district of the city. Created by people from the community, the club offers many recreational or competitive soccer programs for children and adults. 

The Fédération des aînés franco-albertains (FAFA) is the official spokesperson for all Francophone seniors and young retirees in Alberta. Since 1990, the FAFA has provided 28,000 Franco-Albertan seniors with unique opportunities to get involved in order to improve their lives by bringing them together, informing them and giving them tools!

Francophonie Albertaine Plurielle (FRAP) 's mission is to bring communities closer and facilitate the inclusion of people from immigrant backgrounds within Alberta’s Francophonie in all sectors of human activity.

The vision of the FRAP is that of a renewed Francophone community characterized by inclusivity, interculturality, openness to others, respect for diversity and the promotion of human dignity.

The Institut Guy-Lacombe pour la Famille (IGLF) is a parental support centre that offers support to families through resources, programs and services, and allows them to optimize their knowledge, skills and competencies. The IGLF offers services of:

Family support,
Workshops for parents on child discipline, how to dress in winter, nutrition, making a family budget, etc.,
Community meetings of the immigrant women’s group,
Programming and animation for children,
Family and early childhood services information and reference service.

Every French-speaking person in Alberta is in good health thanks to personal and collective care, such is the vision of the Réseau santé albertain (RSA). Its mandate is to influence the health and wellness sector so that French-speaking people in Alberta can take charge of their personal and collective health.

The Société historique francophone de l’Alberta 's mission is to ensure the preservation and dissemination of the heritage and history of Francophones in Alberta, by promoting consultation and liaison between practitioners and consumers of the sector. The SHFA offers a reference service for individuals seeking information on Alberta’s Francophone heritage and history, as well as workshops and tailor-made conferences related to the history of the French fact in Alberta.

CANAVUA is an organization that promotes volunteerism and altruism. It helps structure service delivery to individuals and organizations in need. It facilitates the connection between volunteers in search of missions and associations in demand for volunteers. The organization is also responsible for recruiting, training and then sending volunteers to the field.

CANAVUA develops proactive strategies to increase the participation of Canadian citizens and newcomers. It offers several different services and programs to the community, including: Meals on Wheels, the Health Navigator program, the Relocation Brigade, and the Road Safety Brigade (class 7 driver’s license).

The ACFA régionale de Calgary is an organization that represents and brings together all Francophones and Francophiles residing in the civil territory of Calgary and its surroundings, including the surrounding cities of Airdrie, Carstairs, Cochrane, Drumheller, Innisfail, Okotoks, Olds, High River and Didsbury.

The SPEFSA is a non-profit organization that works with families in the fields of health and education, to contribute to the development of their well-being within the Francophone community of southern Alberta. The organization develops services and programs for child development, informs, guides and supports families in southern Alberta. It offers workshops for parents, as well as activities for children from 0 to 6 years old and their parents.

The Portail de l’immigrant en Alberta (PIA) is a multicultural association whose goal is to offer a range of services and programs that meet the needs of Calgary’s Francophone community in all its diversity, as well as to promote and share Francophone cultural wealth with the general public of Alberta.

The Centre d’accueil pour les nouveaux arrivants francophones de Calgary (CANAF) offers reception, settlement and integration services to Francophone newcomers (permanent residents and Canadian citizens) and facilitates their economic, social and cultural integration.

REGIONS

Red Deer

The ACFA régionale de Red Deer is an organization that represents and brings together all Francophones and Francophiles residing in the civil territory of Red Deer and its surroundings.

Grande Prairie

The Centre Newcomers of Grande Prairieis the result of a partnership between Edmonton Immigrant Services Association (EISA) and the Northern Alberta Reception and Settlement Centre (CAE). Its purpose is to provide settlement services in and around Grande Prairie. The Centre provides these services through information and orientation sessions, information workshops, support counselling and referral to settlement and assistance services for identified needs.

Canmore / Banff

The ACFA régionale de Canmore / Banff is an organization that represents and brings together all Francophones and Francophiles residing in the civil territory of Canmore / Banff and its surroundings.

Brooks

The Association francophone de Brooks (AFB)assists community organizations and institutions in Brooks to improve services to members of the Francophone community in Brooks. Moreover, it supports young French speakers in their integration process.

Fort McMurray

The ACFA régionale de Wood Buffalo is responsible for the development of the Francophone community living in northern Alberta, largely made up of a diverse and mobile population. It is a meeting and networking place for French speakers.

St Isidore

The Fédération des conseils scolaires francophones de l’Alberta has four Francophone school boards (Nord-Ouest, Centre-Nord, Centre-Est and FrancoSud). This grouping allows these school boards to collaborate on matters of common interest and to offer services to all French-language schools in the province.

Francophone school boards are structures that manage Francophone schools, which provide education in French as a first language from kindergarten to grade 12 throughout Alberta.
